“S.A.P”: A perverse and his fraud

More than twenty years ago the pedophile that ended up committing suicide, Richard Gardner, “invented” “the parental alienation syndrome”, known as “PAS”.

He used his part time job as a volunteer at Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons unscrupulously and only for his economic purposes. He was never a psychiatry Professor at that university. His curriculum vitae is inaccessible. It is only known that he was a sergeant of the American army.

It is important to mention that Columbia University publishes in its own editorial the works of his professors. This, of course, never occurred with sinister Gardner since he was never a professor at Columbia. This unscrupulous man, published his books in Creative Therapeutics, his publishing house, and this way he could spread his perverse invention.

Using his prestige gained among abusers and violents, he enriched himself with his work as an expert in controversial divorces in which there were accusations of sexual abuse of sons and daughters.

In order to defend the indefensible, sexual abuse, the “PAS” turned out to be a perfect instrument for him within the standard framework of patriarchal domination: “the mother had alienated her children by putting in their little heads inexistent abuses”

Furthermore, the “PAS” appears when accusations of child sexual abuse begin to arise in middle and high sectors of society. Those who not only have the intellectual but also the economic resources to afford the fees of their defense counsels and experts that work in complicity with these sexual child abusers.

Perverts like this individual, are not fools and they are usually very intelligent. Undoubtedly some well installed social myths were and are very helpful for his purposes: a) Mothers´ supernatural powers… women, heiresses of the powerful and evil mediaeval witches, capable of anything… even of brainwashing their children and filling up their heads with inexistent sexual abuses. b) Children lie, they are innate manipulators, and they are capable of anything since they are born to achieve their sinister purpose: manipulate adults. c) We, human beings, are completely manipulable.

Disarticulating Myths:

a) If only some of our feminine supernatural powers were true! The things we would do with only moving our noses! To make matters worse, our rebellious children rarely want to do what we ask them to do.

b) Children are not manipulators, even less when sexual abuse in concerned. No one can fantasize about the unknown. Children do not lie. They can never invent stories about situations where adult genitals are involved, when they have not lived them, or what is worse, suffered them.

c) If this were true, enterprises and political candidates would not need to spend fortunes in new advertising campaigns. Brainwashing our society once would be enough.

Child sexual abusers take advantage of our mental health. We, ordinary people, can not even imagine that an adult is capable of threatening, forcing, and taking a child as object of his sexual purposes.

As it is unthinkable for us, we defensively reject it and deny it immediately.

Due to this denial, instead of believing children, people who ignore the reality of child sexual abuse, think: “How X so correct, so polite, so nice… can be capable of such an act?” “Surely they are inventions of this child....he has such an imagination... who knows what he has watched on T.V…”

Attention:

When a boy or girl has the courage to talk about the sexual abuses that has suffered, it is because he or she thinks that has found somebody who is reliable.

When revealing the sexual abuse, the child is fighting against all the threats and the meticulous psychological work of the abuser.

In spite of his pain and fear, he decides to speak: it is an act of supreme courage.

Let’s realize that:

Sexual child abusers are always near their victims´ surroundings and exert power over them. In their threats, they prophesy the most sinister consequences in case their victim speaks.

A boy or girl, victim of sexual abuse, that reveals it, overcoming all these obstacles, deserves at least a lovingly responsible adult who listens, believes, helps and protects. The adult must not doubt, because of prejudices, the story he or she tells him bravely.

If the child is not believed, all the threatening “prophecies” of the sexual abuser begin to come true: “If you talk, nobody is going to believe you”. The familiar network begins to deteriorate itself. The victim begins to feel guilty and responsible for what happens: “All this happens because I spoke...they are not going to love me anymore, I am going to be left alone…”

If the victims of child sexual abuse do not find the necessary protection and support, they remain silent for a long time or they retract.

In the last twenty years, the “PAS” has become a very lucrative business, not only editorial. Many professionals worldwide live economically on it. (Psychologists, psychiatrists, lawyers, experts…)

“P.A.S.” lacks all scientific foundation, ignores all child psychology and it only serves, and has served, to acquit child sexual abusers.

It would be good to remind the “skillful experts” of Argentina that they should act within a framework of good praxis and according to the knowledge provided by science. It is not the case of “SAP”. When they accept this function, they do it under oath or promise to carry out their positions faithfully and, if they violate their oath, this makes them deservers of the sanctions anticipated in the Art.275, 276 and 277 of the Penal Code.

Time has come to punish all those who do not fulfill their function with fidelity.

While unscrupulous lawyers and experts lie and deceive deliberately, children are victimized time after time by those who should protect them (pediatricians, experts, defenders, judges…) and us, as society.

The ones that declare themselves “unjustly” separated of their children:

This sinister invention at the service of child sexual abusers is the argument used all over the world by the parents that consider themselves “unjustly” separated from their children.

They spread it right and left and they repeat it so much that they convince others about its existence and, what is worse, public opinion, which lacks all medical and/or psychological formation, ingenuously believes them.

The immoral complicity of “colleagues” who have made of “PAS” an assured rent favours their purpose.

These parents consider themselves victims of justice. By all means, they allege that the accusations on them are false, that their ex- couples obstruct the bond with their sons or daughters.

It is not true that there is an increase of false reports about child sexual abuse in divorce cases; this is another myth which is meant to be installed. We should remember that an induced lie is not easy to be kept for a long time.

If an adult cannot keep a lie coherently, even less a boy or girl can do it.

Divorces are always difficult situations for children. For fear of losing the only thing left of what has been their family; they usually identify themselves with the one who has their custody.

To confuse this with “alienation”, term that alludes to madness, implies to ignore child psychology absolutely.

All the children have the right to be listened to and respected in their elections. This is legally held in the Convention of United Nations on Children´s Rights and in our country, in Law 26061.

The main objectives of our campaign “A.S.I.No” Abuso Sexual Infantil NO (Child Sexual Abuse NO) is the fulfillment of both rights in all our national territory and the burial of the “PAS” together with his pervert inventor.

If there are parents who have been unjustly separated from their children, (by other reasons than sexual abuse or violence) it is the justice which should determine it.

To appeal to this nonexistent syndrome, that is at the service of child sexual abusers and their defenders, and to spread it without any shame, is unacceptable.

It is never healthful to appeal to a lie to obtain the truth.
